Looking to install some garage counters. Using about 6 feet of laminate counters. Any Advice or suggestions?

Don't have any experience with this, but would love to see the suggestions you get.

I would think if you support the counter at the midpoint and secure the counter to studs, you'll have no problem getting support of a few hundred pounds.

There are two (at least) free programs that you can use to help design your garage to see if you like the placement of your renovations.

Planning wiz is web-based and Google SketchUp is a download. SketchUp is more powerful and does 3D modeling, but it's also got a bigger learning curve.

Hope that helps!

I say go to diynetwork.com I'm sure you can find a project similar on there.

I've seen workbenches made with 2x4's. Cheap, quick and fairly easy to make.

I've been eyeballing the Rubbermaid Fastrack system: http://www.rubbermaid.com/rubbermaid/garage/index.jhtml?fmalink=Fas...

They have base and top cabinets for it as well.

The counter would generally be MDF or particle board

Finally got my garage counters installed today. I went with a unfinished cabinets from Lowes for $50 dollars. Mounted the 5ft counter on top and screwed it. Need to do some touch up and stuff but overall it looks pretty nice. Plus it was handy being able to organize the garage better.
