Trugreen has been treating my yard since April and over the last several weeks this patch in my back yard keeps getting worse. See the attached pic. Trugreen already did a grub treatment a few weeks ago. Watering it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

It is good practice to clean your mower after each time. That not only stops fungus from spreading but also ensures there is not buildup on the mower deck. Which in turn will keep your mower at it's peak. Besides that always keeping the blade sharp so that it give your lawn a clean cut.

Can a fungicide be applied to the lawn and/or used to clean your mower with in order to keep them from doing it for you (for a fee)?

Yeah, fungicide is sold at Lowes/Home Depot. For $16 I can get a bottle that attaches to my hose and do it myself (which I probably will).

The Trugreen guy came back out today and fertilized. Here are his notes:
Trugreen said:
Observations: Rust on perennial ryegrass & bluegrass caused by moderately warm & humid weather. Occurs in stressed turf (lack of water, etc).

Recommendations: Water deep & infrequently in mornings only. Fall aeration & overseet w/perennial bluegrass.

Exepectations:Rust will run its course. Should not damage turf.

So, I guess I need to just keep watering each week. I need to get a timer so the sprinklers will come on automatically in the morning. I'm SOOOO not a morning person. I think Lowe's has one for about $25 that you can schedule to turn on and off.

I was off one day when the Chemlawn guy showed up. After talking with him, he told me he couldn't kill half of the weeds I had in my yard...

Seriously? I'm a bit skeptical. The stuff I hook up to my garden hose kills 250 weeds. Maybe the guy just didn't know his product very well. Or he was leaving the company and was getting back at his boss, etc.
