What's your favorite books to read to your kids?

I've found since becoming a father, reading with my son is one of my favorite things. It takes me back to all the great books I had when I was a kid, plus there are a lot of newer good ones. My favorites are still the staples, though. Green Eggs & Ham is hands down my favorite, followed up by Oh! The Places You Will Go, Where The Wild Things Are, and One Fish Two Fish. Suess was brilliant. Of some of the newer books, the Walter The Farting Dog series keep us rolling and I really like the Puff The Magic Dragon book. That takes me back.

I've also started reading some toddler comic books that DC puts out to him, and he LOVES them.

These are the bed time books that we read to each other. It works out great because they like the book. Plus I ran out of books in the house.; ▶ Reply to This

But one thing we do at bed time is I tell them a new story about me or my parents or my siblings when I was growing up, or how I met their mom, etc. It's a way to pass on memories and it's fun.; ▶ Reply to This

I do love the Laura Numeroff ("If You Give a Moose a Muffin" et. al.) and Doreen Cronin (Click! Clack! Moo - Cows That Type) books, too.
