Session at Castleton 4D Ultrasound

Well, tonight was the big night that we got to go see the twins in 4D at the ultrasound place on the north side of town. It was a really neat experience.

The place nice. The room that we got to do the session in had big leather coutches to sit on while the ultrasound was being shown on a big projection screen. We took a few guests since you can have up to five, and the little ones had toys already there to play with and all the outlets that I saw were baby proof.

The session lasted about an hour in total and we got a lot of print outs and a DVD of the entire session. I think it was an interesting experience and is worth time checking out.

I've heard that most insurance companies only cover 1 or 2 regular ultrasounds for an entire pregnancy, unless there are complications. I've not yet heard of any insurance company covering a 3D or even 4D ultrasound.

Comment by Justin on November 17, 2008 at 5:06pm: Well, we won ours after entering at the Baby Expo, but the lady that worked there said that most insurance companies don't cover a 4D ultrasound, just the regular ones. Now our insurance covers as many regular ultrasounds as our doctor needs.

Another tip may be to ask during a regular ultrasound if they have the ability to turn on the 3D/4D for a minute to see the baby's face. Sometimes I've heard of techs doing that without charging extra, it just depends on the office.
