Shave and a haircut...

For a while now I've been trying to find a new barber to take on the mighty role of taming my mane every now and again. Since my old barber passed a few years ago, I've been roaming the town from chair to chair looking for a great place to get my hair cut and it appears I've found it.

This week I was looking for barber coupons on Coupons4Indy and found a place called Red's Classic Barber Shop Company. Its downtown just south of the circle on Washington. From the website and some of the reviews I saw it looked like a really great place, so I decided to make an appointment.

From the moment I walked in I liked the place. Nice hardwood all over, shaving and grooming supplies for sale, large leather seats to rest and wait for your appointment in and a shoe shine seat right there in the front window. I didn't have to wait long before my barber came out and greeted me. Nicely dressed with a button down shirt, tie and slacks. Also he was wearing an old barber coat. I got the full package for my first time to try everything out (haircut, straight razor shave on the neck, shampoo and for the first time a complete straight razor shave). It started with the haircut with William at the scissors. It was a really great cut (my wife was equally impressed). Then after the razor finish on the neck it was time for the shave. After a variety of hot towel treatments William did an excellent job giving me the best shave I had ever had.

It was a great experience. For anyone looking for a nice change from the mall hair salons, I would strongly recommend Red's. I know you'll see me there.
