William: I opted for the RNY Gastric Bypass. I have been trying for many years. Prior to the Triplets, I was able to lose 85 pounds, but as soon as they were born, I gained it all back. Since then, I have had back surgery, and had started having knee, ankle, hip, and back pain due to the weight. At 315 pounds, I needed a change. The gastric bypass gave me a took (pouch) that would help me in controlling the weight. Right now, I am down to 277 from 314 and am feeling great. I don't think this option is right for everyone. Everyone should try the non-surgical route first. This is not an easy option and can have complications.

Wow Scott, what made you decide on surgery? And which surgery? Gastric Bypass or the Lap-band?

In November, I had Weight Loss surgery. I was tired of being overweight, not being able to keep up with my family, hurting, and just being tired all of the time. Weight loss surgery isn't for everyone, but for those that need it, it is a life saver. I wish everyone much success this holiday season with all of the food that is pushed to you.

Last night starts my newest trend. I put 6 miles on my bike in about 30min. I'm going to try to work my way up to an hour ride at 10-15mph three days a week. With the ultimate goal of driving to work a couple times a week with the bike on the rack, and then riding home.

Still in process, I was 210 in February and now have made it down to 179. Happy to share my tips or looking for someone to train with (running, biking). I have a membership at LA Fitness in Zionsville.

I now have a project implementing this Friday from 5pm - 9pm, so I won't be able to make it to the meeting. Let me know what I miss.

Hi Eric - My wife has a commitment at 7pm this Friday. I'd hate for you to move the meeting again. I could call in to your cell to participate, or I can follow-up with you after the fact to hear the updates/add my two cents. Let me know.
